Exhibitions

Rachel's work is gaining acclaim in Cornwall and she has been commissioned to produce work for a number of prestigious exhibitions. One of her most recent works is on display in Trelissick House, this was commissioned by The National Trust who selected Rachel from hundreds of other local artists. Her brief was to create a piece of work that told the story of Edward Lawrence in 1776 who was shipwrecked off the coast of The West Indies while endeavouring to cease The Slave Trade.

In 2016, Rachel produced a beautiful piece to contribute to a stunning touring exhibition featuring a variety of art media from sculpture to pottery, painting to metalwork, each commemorating the anniversary of The First World War. Rachel's 8 ft long table runner in silk and velvet depicted silhouettes of war- worn soldiers, barbed wire, map detail of Belgium and France with the colours inspired by green hills, mud-filled trenches and the vibrant red of poppy fields. The sensitivity, detail and care with which Rachel's work provides a thought provoking and moving insight to the this most significant event highlights her creative strength and her skill as an artist. This work was displayed at Trelowarren gallery, Truro Cathedral and Penlee House Gallery, Penzance.
